Movie Review: Before We Go

It was a Thursday night and I watched a movie. For pleasure! (goodbye study schedule)

I watched Before We Go which starred and was also directed by Chris Evans. (An amazing fact that I did not know until the credits.) The plot of the film is an accidental meeting between the two main characters Nick and Brooke, played by Alice Eve.

The whole film takes place over a few hours, from the time the trains stop running until they begin again.

Personally, I believe that it is a beautiful film. The cityscapes of New York have been uniquely portrayed with a genuine and natural twist compared to other American films.

The main actors have really good chemistry with one another and complimented each other’s personality as they are both lost in their own right.

The cinematography reminds me of French film. There are many shots on handheld cameras that follow the characters but are slightly shaky, giving the impression that the audience is taking part in their adventure.

Also, you don’t particularly know what is going to happen to the two people. Especially since their first meeting is very quick and doesn’t include any introduction from either one.

Some quotes from the film that stood out to me.

– ‘You loved it.’ ‘I kinda think it didn’t like me back’ Nick talking about his aspirations in life.

– ‘There will always be a trouble. You just have to pick who you want to struggle with.’ An old man talking about dealing with the troubles in life.

Overall, it is a beautiful film to watch with very cute moments to bring your heart to flutters. Now go and watch it if you haven’t already!
